GPA Calculator

Formula: Σ(credits × grade point) ÷ Σcredits. Enter grade points on the scale used by your institution.

About this tool

Use the GPA Calculator to find your current grade point average from course credits and grade points. The result is a credit-weighted estimate using the scale you select.

How it works

GPA is calculated by multiplying each course grade point by its credit value, adding those quality points together, and dividing by total credits. This is useful when courses carry different credit loads.

Example

Example: a 3-credit course with a 4.0 grade point contributes 12 quality points. Add the quality points for all courses and divide by total completed credits.

Frequently asked questions

How does a GPA calculator with credits work?

It weights each grade point by the number of credits for that course, so a 4-credit class affects the result more than a 2-credit class.

Can I use a 4.0, 5.0 or 10.0 GPA scale?

Yes. The Genesis tool supports 4.0, 5.0, 10.0 and a custom maximum. Use the grading rules that match your institution.

Is this an official GPA conversion?

No. The calculator computes the GPA from the values you enter. Admissions offices may use different grading or conversion rules.

Important: Tool results are planning aids unless the page states otherwise. For admissions, scholarships, language tests and fees, always confirm the current rule or requirement with the official provider.
