Scholarships in Switzerland for International Students

Scholarships in Switzerland include government research awards and university-specific funding for international students. Switzerland often uses country-specific eligibility rules, so applicants should verify the scholarship category available to their nationality.

Types of Swiss scholarship funding

International students may find government research scholarships and university-level awards. Scholarship categories can depend on the applicant’s country, academic level and intended research or study programme.

Country-specific eligibility matters

The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships are organized around country-specific offers and deadlines. Applicants should use the official Swiss government information for their country before preparing an application.

What to verify before applying

Check the required degree, research plan or study programme, Swiss academic supervisor requirements where applicable, application route, deadline and scholarship duration. The official Swiss government or university page should be treated as the final authority.
